KONG Review- I love Kong DD-WRT and its a very heavily supported community that I highly recommend anyone thinking of DD-WRT. Currently theres alot of issues with drivers, wifi speeds, memory loss, and a few other issues. He just released a test build today that ill try out and see how it goes.

Has anyone tried the latest "Kong" DD-WRT firmware on the R7000P? I can't seem to find any information from 2018 on the R7000P and DD-WRT, × We are experiencing an outage with Chat Support, Knowledgebase Articles and guided assistance. If I'm not mistaken Brainslayer is the only one working on the Marvell units now, as Kong bailed some time ago. As far as DD-Wrt goes it is much better than any stock f/w out there, it just comes back to lousy drivers and the chip set used . because there doesn't seem to be half as many issuse with other routers with different chip sets used.

The Wiki is mainly maintained by the DD-WRT community and contains a lot of information, often in several languages. Because DD-WRT has matured over the years take care to check the respective wiki page what version of DD-WRT a manual is written for. In some cases the setup and behavior of DD-WRT differs between the releases.

The latest is DD-WRT v3.0-r38580M kongac (02/05/19) so i'll assume that's the one.You can rename the folder if you want to 38580M,it'll probably save you more of the same question.

Re: R8000 DD-WRT is finally here!! It is because of DD-WRT that I have had an extremely successful run with my current R7000. Now that DD-WRT has taken on the R8000, this might just be the time for me to upgrade to an R8000. They appeared to be fixed, DD-WRT for Kong mods that is. I was happy to see this last night and was glad I went ahead with the upgrade right away. Thanks for the link oddie121. Kong stopped DD-WRT development and removed his repository in Jul 2019. Kong builds were cryptographically signed to verify authenticity, tested on hardware before upload, could upgrade via the command line ddup tool, and had a bootstrap tool to install the opkg package manager for additional features.
