What firmware file/version are you trying? Try Re-downloading it directly from ASUS website and verify with the associated MD5 or SHA256 hash with “MD5 & SHA Checksum Utilty” free downloadable utility from CNET if there is a verification type listed; or you can try the Asuswrt-Merlin project code firmware (and verify with SHA256 - verifying is important bc it helps make sure the firmware
